Obstetrics & Gynecology: Reproductive Endocrinology & Fertility
A woman’s primary gynecologist can usually successfully
treat problems related to the reproductive system. Sometimes, however,
difficult or persistent problems require the expertise of a subspecialist.
Thanks to research advances at WSP Obstetrics & Gynecology and other
medical centers around the world, these difficult problems can
now often be treated successfully. The Obstetrics & Gynecology
Fertility Program offers the latest technologies for the evaluation
and treatment of infertility problems and reproductive endocrinologic
problems, including problems with menstruation, menopause, premenstrual
syndrome, breast discharge, excessive hair growth and other hormonal
problems that affect the reproductive tract.
What Treatments Are Available?
- Fertility Program: This program offers basic
and advanced infertility diagnostic and treatment modalities. Treatment
options include ovulation induction, medical and surgical treatment
of endometriosis, and laparoscopic surgery for pelvic adhesions.
- Advanced Treatments: Treatments include intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF).
- Ovulation Induction: As part of our fertility program we maintain a seven-day per
week ovulation induction and andrology
- Tubal Ligation Reversal: We have a successful program to reconnect your tubes after having a tubal ligation. Read about it here.
Recurrent Miscarriages: We offer state-of-the-art work-up and treatment for one of the
most common and perplexing problems of reproductive medicine. In
addition, our physicians are investigating new treatments and the
causes of recurrent miscarriages.
Hormone Imbalances: We evaluate and treat acute and chronic hormonal imbalances,
which may lead to irregular menstrual cycles. This includes conditions
of abnormal function of both the thyroid and adrenal glands and
galactorrhea (inappropriate breast milk production).
Hirsutism: The growth of unwanted hair on the face and elsewhere is often
related to endocrinological problems. The accurate diagnosis and
up-to-date treatment of this and related problems are among the
most common conditions our physicians treat.
Menopause Care: Our doctors deal with the common problems of both the pre- and
post-menopausal periods. Because each woman’s response to
this changing hormonal state differs, our physicians work with
each woman to individualize the management of this mid-life period
