Dr. R. Michael Johnson

A 1984 cum laude graduate from the Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, Dr. Johnson continued to excel with his medical education. In 1988 he graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at hospitals affiliated with Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. He finished an additional residency in plastic surgery at Southern Illinois University.

Dr. Johnson is board certified in both general and plastic surgery. He is a member of several medical associations including the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.

Dr. Johnson is committed to providing quality care to every patient in the areas of aesthetic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery services. Dr. Johnson treats each patient as a unique individual. He listens to all of your concerns and with ambitious dedication decides the best formula of surgical procedures and follow-up care to help each patient achieve his or her health and beauty goals.

Cyndi S. Bodner CST/CFA
Cosmetic Patient Coordinator for Dr. Johnson

Ms. Bodner holds a degree in surgical technology from Sinclair Community College and is a certified surgical first assistant. After six years in open heart and trauma surgeries at Miami Valley Hospital, she was presented the opportunity to be more involved with patient care and went to work for Dr. Johnson. For eight years she has been assisting Dr. Johnson in the office as well as in surgery. She is dedicated to patients, assisting them through all aspects of surgery. From the initial phone call, to the consultation with the doctor, and on into surgery, Cyndi will be with you every step of the way. She will give you all the information that you need to make an informed decision, including the costs, financing and scheduling information, and the opportunity to view Dr. Johnson’s work on previous patients with "before" and "after" photos.

If you decide on surgery, Cyndi will review your financing options, and pre-and post-operative care concerns. She will assist you with facility and anesthesia personnel, to help ensure that your needs are met in an efficient manner.

You will meet with Dr. Johnson a second time prior to your surgery, where he will answer any questions you have. During your visit a packet of information that includes post-operative instructions, appointment information, and prescriptions you will need, will be presented to you.

During this visit Cyndi will take your pre-operative photos, answer any questions, and have you sign the required consent forms. (Since Cyndi has helped Dr. Johnson perform many of these surgeries, she is more than capable of answering any questions that you may have.) She understands your need to have all your questions answered before the big day and that patients sometimes need a little extra TLC, so do not be surprised if she calls you at home the night after surgery or over the weekend, to check on your progress and to ensure your continuity of care. It is our goal that your surgery experience is smooth and enjoyable.

Dr. Johnson believes in patient education, and working together to establish realistic goals for each patient. "It is my job," says Cyndi, "to respond to patient needs, focus on their desires, and make sure that each patient has all the information needed to make informed decisions. I am committed to helping patients achieve their appearance goals through education, communication, and a step-by- step plan that allows for a positive surgical experience with us."

Erin K. Kelly, RN, MSN, CNP, CWS
Cosmetic and Reconstructive Patient Coordinator

Ms. Kelly is an advanced practice nurse with a Master's in nursing from Case Western Reserve University. She is double certified as a nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Ms. Kelly is a diplomate of the American Academy of Wound Management and Certified Wound Specialist (CWS). She has practiced as an RN for over 20 years and for the last five years has practiced in wound and skin care in both private practices and hospital settings. She is an experienced and skilled practitioner who possesses the knowledge, skills and judgment needed to assist in the care of patients in surgical, acute care and outpatient settings.

A valuable member of the healthcare team at Wright State Physicians, Department of Plastic Surgery, Erin assists the surgeon by providing pre- and post-operative care, history and physicals, and assisting in office procedures. Erin also is capable of performing tasks such as wound closure in many surgical procedures. She is known both for her efficient and excellent patient care, as well as for the sensitive and personalized attention she offers patients in helping them with any concerns they have before and after surgery.
